The case of the picture of Mohammad Ali Jinnah in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh Muslim University has now reached the capital Delhi. Around two dozen protesters shouted slogans on Tuesday evening at the main gate of Jamia Millia Islamia in New Delhi. Protestors slogan ‘Jinnah Premi Bharat Chhodo’ and ‘Vande Mataram’ here. However, protesters went back after sloganeering for some time.
Let me tell you that after the BJP MP’s objection this matter came to everyone. After that, it was very fussy about it. Existing students and alumni of AMU refused to remove Jinnah’s photograph, although the picture was removed for some time.
The students had constantly demonstrated it outside the AMU, during this time the police had also lathi charge. Students on this issue have said that Jinnah is part of Indian history, so he will not remove his picture. Looking at the tension, internet service was also banned for a few days in the university.
Indeed, BJP MP Satish Gautam had demanded to remove Jinnah’s photograph from the university’s VC in the student halls. After which the politics started on this matter.
After this, activists of Hindu Yuva Vahini protested strongly against the AMU while demanding Jinnah’s picture. They also accused them of trying to interfere in the program of former vice-president Hamid Ansari. After which six workers were handed over to the police.
The student union had alleged that the Hindu Youth Vahini activists did not take any action against them and left without lodging the case. Angered the student wing officer reached the police station and protested. The allegation was that during this period the students were pushing the SP city. After which the police lathi-charged students and about 15 students were injured in this.
