Music Maestro AR Rahman has done India proud again by making it to the nomination list of Oscars in the Best Original Score category for the film Pele: Birth Of A Legend. This time around, he is competing with 145 others in the same category.

Also, the song Ginga from the same film, has been shortlisted in the Original Song category along with 91 other songs.

Rahman had won two Oscars for his work in the 2009 blockbuster Slumdog Millionaire, directed by Danny Boyle. He had won the Oscars for the Best Original Score and Best Original Song, Jai Ho, back then.

The final nominations for the 89th Academy Awards will be announced on January 24, 2017. The presentation ceremony is scheduled to take place on February 26, 2017.

Mr. Rahman will compete with titles like Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, La La Land, Moana and “lorence Foster Jenkins.

Nominations for the Oscars will be announced on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 with the main ceremony scheduled for Sunday, February 26, 2017.

Mr. Rahman, who is already a double Oscar-winner for his work on Slumdog Millionaire in 2009, has found mention in both Best Original Score and Best Original Song long list of 89th Academy Awards.
