One of the popular North Goa beaches, the Calangute Beach, in a hapless incident. On yesterday, Goa’s two constables get brutally assaulted by 11 tourists after they were told “not to consume alcohol and create the nuisance”, an official statement said.

The incident was occurred at around 3:45 pm when the two constables on duty have asked the group of 11 tourists to behave themselves.

A group of 11 men, who were identified as hailed from Haryana and Delhi, were inebriated at that moment when they started hitting the constables who in a uniform, said an inspector Jivba Dalvi, Calangute police station.

You know the constables were outnumbered, and the other tourists gathered at the spot while some extra police forces were called to control the situation, said Jivba Dalvi.

However, all the 11 tourists jailed under several sections of IPC and produced before a local court that remanded them to judicial custody.

The medical reports have shown that “the presence of alcohol in their blood”, said the police officer.
