Canandian hanset-maker Blackberry on Monday launched two smartphones — DTEK 50 and DTEK 60 — priced at Rs 21,990 and Rs 46,990 respectively.

While the DTEK50 will be available from Saturday, the DTEK 60 will hit shelves in December. The company also announced partnership with Optiemus, a Delhi-based telecom enterprise, to distribute and promote BlackBerry handsets in the market.

“India is a very important market for BlackBerry and now we have tied up with Optiemus Infracom that strengthens our network of key partners in India and will enabls us to deliver our secure BlackBerry Android experience to more customers,” Alex Thurber, senior vice president, global device sales, BlackBerry, said.

In terms of specifications, the 50 features a 5.2-inch fHD display, 3GB of RAM, 13-megapixel rear camera and a 8-megapixel front camera with LED flash. The device has 2TB of expandable memory and draws power from a 2,610 mAh battery.

To recall, the BlackBerry DTEK50 was launched back in July this year, and began shipping in select regions in August. The BlackBerry DTEK60 on the other hand, after numerous third-party retail and official listings, was finally launched late last month. The latter sports a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel.

Both smartphones run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with BlackBerry’s skin on top. The customisation alongside BlackBerry Enterprise services, and the DTEK by BlackBerry app, makes the company call them the ‘world’s most secure Android smartphones’. The company’s also touting that the smartphones are ready for enterprise adoption with its Enterprise Mobility Management solutions.

The single-SIM (Micro-SIM) BlackBerry DTE50 sports a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display with a pixel density of 424ppi. It is powered by a 1.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 SoC coupled with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone bears a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, dual-tone LED flash, and a 6-element lens with an f/2.0 aperture.
