If you’ve always cribbed about Coldplay not performing in India, your woes might soon see an end.

The band, which has the reputation of being all kinds of brilliant–and boasts of a loyal set of fans–is soon going to be performing on the Indian turf.

Reportedly, the band will be headed to India in the month of November, where it will perform at a charity concert organised by the Global Poverty Project. The Global Poverty Project is believed to be the very reason behind Chris Martin’s surprise visit to the cities of Mumbai and New Delhi last year

The other obvious reason being Coldplay’s much-talked-about track, Hymn for the Weekend, which was filmed across Mumbai and featured Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor.

According to Mumbai Mirror, “They will perform in India on November 19 as part of the charity’s annual fund-raising concert. It is yet to be decided whether Mumbai or Delhi will be the chosen city.”

While any official confirmation from the band about the same is still awaited, clinging on to the very thought of a Coldplay concert in the country seems like solace enough for now.

As Mumbai Mirror reported,

ARE you in the mood for some Coldplay? Dubbed the greatest rock band ever in the world, Chris Martin and his pals seem to have fallen in love with India. The musicians came here first last year in June—they went to Delhi as part of Martin’s global poverty charity (he is its brand ambassador). Then again, in September, the band came to Mumbai to shoot for their video Hymn for the Weekend, with Sonam Kapoor famously starring in it. And now we hear that Coldplay will visiting yet again. They will perform in India on November 19 as part of the charity’s annual fund-raising concert. It is yet to be decided whether Mumbai or Delhi will be the chosen city. While we are certain of a full house (we type this as our favourite Fix you plays in our headphones), we wonder how angry are they who flew to London to watch their favourite band this summer?
