India’s ace archer Deepika Kumari has equalled the World record in woman’s recurve event at Archery World Cup in Shanghai on Wednesday. The 21-year-old scored 686/720 to equal the earlier world-record score of 686/720 set by South Korea’s archer Ki Bo-Bae in 2015.

She is currently ranked World No. 5, and is a former world number one. She has already qualified for the Rio Olympics with her performance at the Copenhagen World Championships last year.

Kumari has previously won silver medals in individual events in the 2011, 2012 and 2013 editions of the Archery World Cup. She also won gold in both the individual and the team recurve events at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and a team bronze at the 2010 Asian Games. Earlier this year, she received the Padam Shri award and was conferred the Arjuna Award, India’s second highest sporting award in the year 2012.
