French Open 2017 News: Undoubtedly, the world’s best Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal dragged into the third round after beating Joao Sousa & Robin Haase in Paris.

Novak Djokovic stormed into the last 32 on Wednesday as he aims to become the first man in the Open Era to win each Grand Slam twice while Jo-Wilfried Tsonga crashed out after suffering a four-set loss to Renzo Olivo.

Djokovic needed little over two hours to see off Portugal’s Joao Sousa 6-1, 6-4, 6-3 as he bids to become to defend the French Open crown.

The world number two broke his 59th-ranked opponent six times to make it four wins in as many meetings with Sousa. Djokovic goes on to face Argentina’s Diego Schwartzman for a place in the last 16.

Rafael Nadal outclassed Dutchman Robin Haase 6-1, 6-4, 6-3 in one hour and 49 minutes on Court Philippe Chatrier to continue his quest for an incredible 10th Roland Garros triumph.

“I was more or less under control during the whole match, so I’m very happy. Winning in straight sets is always good news,” said Nadal. “I think I did a lot of things well this afternoon.”

The Spaniard will face Nikoloz Basilashvili for a place in round four after the Georgian matched his best ever run at a Grand Slam.
