Kensington Palace has announced that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting again. In the statement, the Kensington Palace said,”Their royal highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child. The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news.”
The announcement was made as the Duchess had to cancel her plans for Monday, due to extreme morning sickness. As with her last two pregnancies, she is suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, an acute condition characterized by severe nausea, vomiting, weight loss, and electrolyte disturbance during pregnancy. She is being cared for at the Kensington Palace. the couple has an in-house nanny. It is expected that the Duchess will choose to the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington. this is also where she has had her previous deliveries.
The baby will be the third child to the Duke and the Duchess, after Prince George, who is four, and Princess Charlott, who turns two this year. The baby will be fifth in line to the throne, pushing Prince Harry down to the sixth place. Until recently, if the new baby were a boy, he would have pushed Princess Charlotte back to the fifth position. However, a change in the rules of male primogeniture, before the birth of Prince George removed discriminatory male bias.
On being asked for comments, Prince Harry was quoted saying,”Fantastic. Great. Very very happy for them.”
