The Election Commission has banned the use of the term ‘Pappu’ in electronic advertisements for the assembly elections held in Gujarat on the Bharatiya Janata Party. Be aware that the BJP’s main opposition party has been using this term to blow up Rahul Gandhi’s vice president Rahul Gandhi.
Confirming the EC’s order, BJP sources said that the words targeting a particular person are not being used in advertisements being prepared for campaigning.
According to BJP sources, the media committee under Gujarat Chief Electoral Officer had objected to some words used in the script of the advertisement submitted by the party last month. A senior BJP leader said, “Before preparing any content related to the election campaign, we have to send it to the Gujarat CEO’s Media Committee for approval.” The committee, in its advertisement script, termed Pappu as derogatory of the objection We have been instructed to remove it or replace it with another word. ”
He told that the party will use the second word instead of the election material and the new script will be sent for EC approval.
He said, “Pappu’s word was not used directly in the advertisement script, so we requested the commission to reconsider it, but the commission rejected our request. Will use any other word. “
