It’s rare you see Ashish Nehra at a press conference. It is rarer to see him at any interaction with media. And it is impossible to find him on social media.

The India pacer is not on any of the social media sites and doesn’t mind it.

Therefore, when asked about the India-Bangladesh rivalry on the social media at the presser before the World T20 match between the two teams in Bengaluru, Nehra came up with a sarcastic reply.

“You are asking this question to a wrong person because I am somebody who is on social media. I am still using my old Nokia so I am not on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. I don’t read newspapers,” he said. Hearing his reply, the people present at the presser burst into laughter. Later, the BCCI requested former India opener Virender Sehwag, who is also a close friend of Nehra, if he can ask the bowler to join social media. Sehwag also tweeted his reply saying he will try his best.

Nehra also said that he was enjoying his latest stint with the team and he expects to play till his body allows. “I’m loving my second stint. Will play as long as my body holds up and I’m enjoying the game.”

India are in a must-win situation after losing the first game against New Zealand and Nehra said that the team was taking the Bangladesh challenge very seriously. India has to win both of the remaining matches in order to make it to the semis.

India are expected to play the same squad with Nehra leading the pack in the bowling department against Bangladesh as well. We hope that he continues his unbreakable stint and does well for the team in the powerplays.

Oh, and just in case you were wondering about that Nokia phone, is that ‘it’ behind those mikes?
