Jio has a new partner in Apple, offers worth 18,000 with iPhone 7 BUSIFLUENCE, GLOBAL, News Jio has tied up with Apple to make its new batch of iPhones — the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus — a little less expensive for buying in India. The Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Limited will offer free services worth Rs 18,000 pre-bundled with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, the company has announced. Moreover, the company has extended the scheme to include the iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus and iPhone SE as well. “Every customer purchasing a new iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus or iPhone SE at Reliance Digital and select APR & AAR will get 12 months of complimentary Jio Digital Services worth over Rs 18,000. This includes unlimited local, STD and national roaming voice, unlimited text, 20 GB of 4G Data, 40 GB of WiFi Data and Unlimited Night 4G Data, unlimited subscription to premium Jio Applications,” RIL Jio said in a statement. Interestingly, the offer quoted also coincides with Jio’s Rs 1,499 tariff plan, slated to launch from January 1, 2017. Currently, all buyers of the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus and iPhone SE will be eligible for Jio’s free Welcome Offer. “As a part of Welcome Offer, users will continue to enjoy unlimited HD voice & video calling, unlimited SMS, high-speed data and access to a host of Jio premium apps till December 31,” according to Jio. Post December 31, all buyers who have purchased either of the above mentioned iPhones from the Reliance Digital and select APR & AAR (with Jio scheme) will be automatically migrated to Jio’s Rs 1,4999 tariff plan, under which they can access free unlimited local, STD and national roaming voice, unlimited text, 20 GB of 4G Data, 40 GB of WiFi Data and Unlimited Night 4G Data, unlimited subscription to premium Jio Applications for one year. Post December 31, 2017 however they will have to start paying for the services. The iPhone 7, for instance, starts at Rs 60,000 for the base 32GB variant and goes all the way up to Rs 92,000 for the top-end 256GB version of the iPhone 7 Plus. India still remains to be one of the most expensive places to buy the iPhone. That being said, Apple has been steadily picking up steam in India as far as official availability of the new iPhones is concerned. The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have been launched relatively quickly in India, after their global unveiling, and well ahead of the festive season. The company earlier tied up with online retail giants like Flipkart and Amazon to offer the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus for pre-order and the new iPhones went on sale starting from October 7, from 7PM IST.
